Fall Faves

Since I haven't done a favorite post in quite some time, I thought I would compile the products I've been loving over the last few months into one post - Fall Faves!

MAC Rebel lipstick: My go-to fall lip. Seriously, you can't go wrong with this lippie. I like pairing it with different lipsticks and liners to achieve the ombre lip.Which brings me to my next favorite...

MAC Nightmoth lip pencil: I've been wearing this liner a lot this fall. I especially like wearing it with MAC Rebel and Revlon Cherries in the Snow lipsticks. It completes the perfect vampy fall lip.

Benefit Coralista blush: Oldie, but goodie. I'll admit I neglected this blush for awhile. And I'm not exactly sure when I started using it again. But I've literally been wearing this blush almost every day the past two months or so. Perfect peachy-coral blush. Flatters most skin-tones. And you can wear it with almost any look.

MAC By Candlelight MSF LE: I may have mentioned this in a favorites post before. My absolute favorite Mineralize Skinfinish by MAC, which unfortunately is a limited edition product. It's been repromoted once before. Here's to hoping they repromote it again, or make it permanent. Rosy-gold-champagne highlighting perfection!

NARS Laguna bronzer: My favorite bronzer of all time? It just might be. I mentioned this product over the summer in my May/June Favorites. Well, I've pretty much been using it non-stop this fall, everyday. I've actually hit pan! I can't remember the last time I hit pan on a product that wasn't a face/setting powder. I use this bronzer daily to bronze/contour my face. Love it!

MAC Brown Script eyeshadow: I seriously don't know how I lived before this shadow! A little dramatic? Probably. Well, needless to say, I love this beauty. Brown Script, a warm, reddened orange-brown, is a part of MAC permanent eyeshadow line. You know how you use Soft Brown as a transition color? Think of this as Soft Browns younger, hipper, more dramatic little sister. My favorite transition color. I use this with nearly all my dark, dramatic smokey eyes, And yes! with vibrant colors too, not just darks and blacks. Trust me. You NEED this shadow.

Urban Decay Blackout eyeshadow: Hands down the blackest-black eyeshadow ever. The best! I fell in love with this baby when I was introduced to it in the NAKED 2 palette, and I haven't looked back. My poor pan of MAC Carbon probably has a layer of dust on it now... MAC usually gets it right. But Urban Decay redefined the black eyeshadow game with this one. I plan to get an individual pot so I don't hit pan on the one in my Naked 2 palette.

MAC Spruced Crushed Metallic Pigment LE: First let me say, I am in love with MAC Solarbits, which sadly have been discontinued. But when MAC released the Crushed Metallic Pigments I fell in love all over again. They are like liquid metal for the eyes. Tiny pearls of metallic pigments that leave me drooling. Spruced is an amazing teal metallic pigment, that is a part of the MAC Gulity Passions: 4 Brilliantly Cool Crushed Metallic Pigments set. What I love about these pigments is that they 'pop' on every skintone. I kid you not.

MAC Feminity Crushed Metallic Pigment LE: Another from the MAC Holiday collections- MAC Guilty Passions: 4 Sweetly Smoky Crushed Metallic Pigments. This beauty is like MAC Stars 'n Rockets on steroids! Enough said.

Wet 'n Wild Mega Liner Black Liquid Eyeliner: I picked this up this liner on a random, unnecessary trip to the drugstore. I had been hearing good things about this liner and wanted to give it a try. What I really like about this liner is that its CHEAP, but more importantly it works! You can achieve pretty much any eyeliner shape with the thin brush tip. It give a nice thin flick on winged liner. If you can have a steady hand, it may take some practice. But for $2.99 its worth taking the time to practice. Be careful, this liner doesn't dry as quickly as some other popular brands.

Trader Joe's 100% Pure Jojoba Oil: I've mentioned many, many times how oily my skin is. After coming across a post about oil-cleansing on Pintrest and countless articles and blog posts, I started an oil-cleansing skincare regimen. I've been mixing castor, olive and jojoba oils to cleanse my skin. And moisturizing with jojoba oil afterward. Jojoba oil is an amazing moisturizer and makeup remover. While the brand isn't so important, just that it be 100% PURE. I picked my bottle up for $6.99 at Trader Joes, which was a good deal. I've seen the same amount of product at Wegmans and other stores for more. I plan on doing a post about my experience with oil-cleansing. Let me know if you have any questions; if you leave them in the comments below I will try to include them in my post!

Election Day. Go VOTE!

So this post obviously isn't beauty related... lets take a moment to forget our vain pleasures, and talk about the real world.

Today is Election Day here in the US. I cannot stress enough how important today is. Please find the time- scratch that- MAKE THE TIME to go vote! As an American you owe it to yourself and your country. We have the privilege to live in this amazing country. We often take for granted the freedoms we are accustomed to here in the United States. And while were mostly here to revel in our own guilty pleasures, there are many people who cannot afford such materialistic items or do not have the freedoms we do to express ourselves.

No matter what your political views are. Or your political affiliation- let your voice be heard. Whether you support President Obama or Governor Romney- GO VOTE!

Obama GMU Rally October 2012

A few weeks back, I attended the Obama Rally at George Mason University. My boyfriends family and I woke up at 5:30am, to stand in line from 6:30-9am to hope to get the chance to hear President Obama speak. Not only did we secure a spot at the rally, but we were selected from the audience to stand in the bleachers behind President Obama. Have you ever wondered who those people were that get to stand behind the President while he was speaking, and thought 'how did they get to stand behind the President?' Well, that was us! It was such an amazing experience. Listening to the President live was moving.  It felt like a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and it was... At the end of this speech we got the opportunity to meet the President and shake his hand. I GOT TO SHAKE THE PRESIDENTS HAND! Unreal.

That's me!

I'm sure by now, you know who I am voting for. I want to re-elect President Obama. He was not the one who put our country in the financial state it is in now, and four years for ANY President is not enough time to turn it around. I support Barack Obama because he supports equality and women's rights. He is MY President. And I've got his back...

Poison Ivy (Halloween Pics!)

Happy belated Halloween!

Just a quick post. I wanted to show you a few from Halloween... This year I decided to make my costume again. (Click here see my Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj costumes) And every year, I drive Dave, myself and all my friends crazy trying to pick the perfect costume for Halloween. And if you ask any of them, I'm sure they'll tell you how annoying I can be about it... After many conversations, several emails and even more text messages, I finally decided on Poison Ivy!

With the final Dark Knight (Batman) moving coming out, several friends suggested Catwoman- but I knew there would be a bunch of Catwomen out this Halloween. And there is nothing I hate more than someone having the same costume as me. And I didnt want to do another celebrity as I had the last two years... Poison Ivy had crossed my mind before but in the end I went another route. However this year ended up being the year to bring her to life.

Five and a half hours later... the costume was complete! Not to mention my trusty glue gun finally kicked the bucket as well! I used faux ivy, silk flowers, glitter covered leaves and berries from Christmas decorations to create this beauty. Heavy drag makeup and red clip-in extenstions completed the look.

Unfortunately, I left my camera at a friends house, so I had to rely on the iPhone and club photographers for pics of my costume... Lucky for me, my friend Danilo just happens to be the best club photog in DC! I wore the costume out the Friday before Halloween and on Halloween night, so you'll see two different makeup looks. And if you follow me on Instagram or my facebook page, you may have seen some of these pics already...

I hope everyone had a fun and safe holiday! My thoughts and prayers go out to all of those affected by Hurricane Sandy. My family and friends got lucky here in the Washington DC area. And please don't forget to VOTE TOMORROW!!!
